Here is an easy DIY project for the kitchen!
Making a mason jar utensil holder is super easy and it also makes an attractive DIY kitchen decor.
1. Prepping your Jar
Make sure the insides of your mason jars are clean and dry. Cover the mason jar with 2-3 coats of paint. Chalk paint gives it a more rustic look or you can use acrylic paint or spray paint.
2. Adding the Weathered look
Once the paint dries completely, rub it with sandpaper to give it a weathered look. Rub gently until you get the effect you want. You can do it just enough to rub off part of the letters.
3. Finishing Touches
Next, find a ribbon you like or any other décor you prefer and glue it to the jar.
Now you have a handy utensil holder and new kitchen decor all rolled into one.
What have you made with mason jars? Do you use them as storage, decor or both?
