Spring cleaning is essential for everyone, especially those who suffer from allergies. Here are 5 tips to help you get started!
1 Start by Cleaning Room-By-Room
One of the most effective ways to clean your home is to clean one room at a time. Create a checklist and make notes of the items that need to be deep cleaned. You may skip items that have been recently cleaned and focus on items that have been neglected.
2 Organize and Clear the Clutter
One of the main purposes of spring cleaning is to get rid of items that you don’t need. Categorize your belongings into four groups: throw away, give-away, store, or put-way. Donate items and even sell items that you no longer need.
3 Get a Helping Hand
Cleaning the entire house can be tiring, we suggest getting your family to help out. Play some music and maybe add an incentive to help get the work done much faster.
4 Always Work from Top to Bottom
When cleaning, it is best to start from the ceiling and work your way down. This will bring the debris downward and will prevent you from having to re-dust the room. Use a damp towel to wipe down walls and blinds (starting from the top). Clean the window. Use a vacuum to get rid of cobwebs and dust from your ceilings and fans first and then move on to dust the rest of the room before vacuuming the debris off the floor.
5 Create New Cleaning Habits
Create a mini cleaning routine that can be done in every few days to help keep your home tidy throughout the year. This will make the next spring cleaning much easier.
